If a pot or pan overheats, the sensor unit warns with an 80 dB alarm tone. In addition, a radio signal is sent to the control unit, which automatically interrupts the power supply to the hob. This prevents fires from starting and residents from being harmed by toxic fumes.

The stove guard complies with EU standard EN50615:2015 Category B, which deals with devices for preventing kitchen fires. The device can be installed quickly and easily by a qualified electrician and is compatible with all types of electric hobs. Retrofitting is also possible. The sensor unit can be attached to the extractor hood or ceiling using a self-adhesive magnetic plate. Wall mounting is also possible with an additional bracket. The control unit is installed behind the stove between the junction box and the hob.
